The effigy displays the emperor's portrait with a laurel wreath crowning his head, the drapery visible at the shoulder truncation. The circular Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan, framing the imperial portrait. The die engraving reflects the local workshop tradition of Cyzicus, with a bold, if somewhat coarse, rendering of the imperial likeness typical of late first-century provincial bronzes. |

In her outstretched right hand she holds ears of grain (corn-ears), the primary symbol of her domain over agriculture and the harvest. Her left hand holds a tall, long torch, the attribute associated with her search for Persephone. The Greek civic legend naming the local strategos encircles the reverse field, attesting to the authority of the magistrate Tiberios Klaudios Hagnias under whose supervision the coin was struck at Cyzicus. |
