The composition is rendered in a schematic but recognizable manner typical of provincial bronze coinage of the mid-third century AD. The reverse legend encircles the type, referencing the strategos Hermophilos, the twice-neocorate status of Sardis, and the Paphian epithet of Aphrodite. |
