| Описание реверса | Tyche, the personification of Fortune and civic deity of Nicaea, stands facing left in full figure, draped in a long chiton and himation. In her right hand she holds a ship's rudder resting on the ground, symbolising guidance and destiny, while her left arm cradles a cornucopia overflowing with fruits, representing abundance and prosperity. The figure is rendered in the conventional Hellenistic tradition common to Bithynian provincial coinage of the mid-third century. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ is inscribed in the field, asserting the civic identity of the issuing authority. |
