| Descrizione del rovescio | An agonistic crown occupies the central field, depicted as a broad, flat stephane or prize crown adorned with a row of six pellets along its body and surmounted by two crossed palm branches rising from its interior, symbols of athletic victory. The crown is rendered in relief with decorative horizontal banding. The encircling Greek legend names the Severan games held at Nicaea. The reverse type commemorates the ϹΕΟΥΗΡΕΙΑ, the sacred agonistic festival instituted in honor of Septimius Severus by the city of Nicaea in Bithynia. |
