The empress is depicted with diadem, wearing draped garments visible at the shoulder and chest. The Greek legend ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ΔΟΜ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ ('Julia Domna Augusta') runs around the field, identifying the imperial consort and mother of Caracalla. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Cult statue of Artemis of Ephesus (Ephesia) depicted standing facing, rendered in the canonical xoanon form with the kalathos (cylindrical crown) atop her head, the characteristic multiple supports (stacked bulbous forms) across the torso, and flanked on either side by a stag. The composition reflects the venerated Ephesian cult image widely reproduced on provincial coinage of Asia Minor. The ethnic legend ΑΚΜΟΝΕΩΝ ('of the Acmoneans') appears in the field, identifying the issuing city of Acmonea in Phrygia. |
