| Description du revers | Cult statue of Artemis of Ephesus (Ephesia) depicted standing facing, rendered in the canonical xoanon form with the kalathos (cylindrical crown) atop her head, the characteristic multiple supports (stacked bulbous forms) across the torso, and flanked on either side by a stag. The composition reflects the venerated Ephesian cult image widely reproduced on provincial coinage of Asia Minor. The ethnic legend ΑΚΜΟΝΕΩΝ ('of the Acmoneans') appears in the field, identifying the issuing city of Acmonea in Phrygia. |
