| 背面描述 | Cult statue of Artemis Anaïtis standing facing, depicted in the distinctive local iconography of Hypaepa, wearing a kalathos (cylindrical headdress) atop her head and extending both arms outward at her sides in a gesture of epiphany or benediction. The goddess is rendered in a stiff, frontal, xoanon-like manner consistent with the archaic cultic tradition of the sanctuary at Hypaepa. The ethnic legend ΥΠΑΙΠΗΝΩΝ encircles the type in the field, identifying the issuing city. The reverse fabric is irregular, consistent with provincial hammered coinage of the mid-third century AD. |
