Surrounding the monogram, a four-line Persian legend fills the field, with the royal titulature identifying the ruler as Kaan, servant of the universe, and King David. Flanking the fourth line of the Persian inscription, the Georgian Qoronikon (Paschal Calendar) date is rendered in Asomtavruli letters, recording the year 465 of the Georgian era, corresponding to AD 1245. The overall design is characteristic of the Georgian-Mongol period coinage, blending Georgian dynastic symbolism with Persian chancery script. The coin exhibits an irregular flan with a border of dots. |
