| Beschrijving keerzijde | Printed in dark blue on cream paper, the reverse is set within a decorative geometric border composed of interlocking meander and key-fret motifs at all four sides. A central rounded rectangular panel carries the heading 'Gutschein der Gemeinde Natternbach' in bold blackletter, followed by a text block stating the total issue of 90,000 Kronen and the redemption guarantee in legal tender by 31 December 1920. A framed anti-counterfeiting notice at the foot reads 'Die Nachmachung dieses Scheines wird gesetzlich bestraft'; the denomination '80' appears in large numerals at upper left and right, flanked by stylised monogram ornaments. |

Natternbach is a small market town in Upper Austria, and like hundreds of similarly small Austrian municipalities, it issued its own emergency currency — Notgeld — during the postwar period when coin shortages made small-denomination transactions nearly impossible. The 80 Heller denomination is unusual; most municipal issues clustered around 10, 20, and 50 Heller values, and the choice of 80 suggests this was tailored to a specific local pricing need rather than following any regional template.
Austrian municipal Notgeld from 1920 was technically illegal under existing currency law but was tolerated by authorities out of practical necessity.
