The encircling Latin legend reads PHILIP·V·D·G·HISPAN·ET IND·REX, identifying Felipe V as King of Spain and the Indies by the grace of God. The design is executed in the fully milled 'columnario' predecessor style with a toothed border running along the entire periphery.
