Obverse description Armored bust of Ferdinand VI facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed cuirass and elaborate curled periwig, occupying the majority of the coin's field. The effigy is portrayed in a stately Baroque style consistent with Spanish royal portraiture of the mid-18th century. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, interrupted at the base by the date 1748 in the exergual area. The legend reads FERDINANDUS VI D G HISP REX, affirming the king's title by divine right. The coin's milled edge is clearly visible on the obverse rim.
