Above the central vignette runs the bold Gothic legend 'Braunschweiger Notgeld', and below, the issuing authority 'Braunschweigische Staatsbank' with the place and date 'Braunschweig, den 1. Mai 1921' and a manuscript signature. The text panel reads that the note is accepted as payment by all state treasuries and loses its validity on 1 May 1923; artist credits 'Günther' and 'Clausen' appear at the lower left and right of the central vignette respectively. |
