Reverse description Letterpress in brown and black on beige paper, with a pictorial vignette in a folkloristic illustrative style characteristic of Weimar-era Notgeld, showing miners descending into a mine shaft. A rhyming verse in the lower portion of the design evokes the silver-mining tradition of Freiberg, and the imprint of the lithographic establishment Ernst Lange, Freiberg, appears at the foot of the note.
Reverse lettering Vor Ort. Ins Bergwerk hinein, wo die Bergleut` sein, die da graben das Silber und das Gold bei der Nacht aus Felsgestein. Lith. Anst. Ernst Lange, Freiberg
(Translation: On site. Into the mine where the miners are, where they dig the silver and the gold- during the night- out of the mountain's stone)

Comments

Freiberg's notgeld program was one of the more coherent municipal efforts in Saxony — the city leaned heavily on its identity as a centuries-old silver mining center, and the local printer Ernst Lange handled the entire run in-house rather than farming it out to the larger specialist printers in Leipzig or Dresden who dominated much of the regional notgeld trade.

The "c" variant designation in the Lindman reference typically indicates a paper stock or color distinction within the same denomination run — worth confirming against a type example before cataloging as a separate piece.
