| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped and armored bust of James I facing right, wearing a large crown with cross finial, confined within a beaded inner circle. The effigy depicts the king with distinctive ruffled collar and elaborately decorated dress. A mintmark appears at the top of the field, above the king's crown. The surrounding legend in Latin is interrupted by stops and runs clockwise between the inner beaded circle and the irregular outer rim. |

The composition is characteristic of early Stuart Irish coinage. |
