The Transnistrian Republican Bank began issuing its own currency in 1993 following the breakaway republic's brief but bloody 1992 war with Moldova, and this 1994 series reflects a denomination already showing the strain of severe inflation — 5,000 roubles was a practical, everyday value for only a short time before higher denominations were required. The "Printed: 30.04.1945" date in the catalog data almost certainly refers to something unrelated to the press run — likely a misattributed field or database artifact. No banknote issued in 1994 was printed in April 1945.
