Reverse description The reverse carries a bold woodcut-style vignette in dark blue on a grey woodgrain ground, reproducing a motif from a Byzantine textile dated 921–931, preserved in the shrine of St. Anno in Siegburg. The composition shows four stylised lions arranged symmetrically in two registers, each pair flanking a central heraldic figure with an ornate patterned body, the whole enclosed within a dotted rectangular border. Below the vignette, the denomination numeral "5000" is centred between the left legend "BYZANTINISCHES GEWEBE AUS DEN JAHREN 921–931" and the right legend "AUS DEM ST. ANNOSCHREIN IN SIEGBURG".
