| 背面描述 | A panoramic architectural composition depicting the historic townscape of Banská Štiavnica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Prominent at centre is the tall Baroque plague column (Trinity Column) with its richly sculpted group of figures and sunburst finial, flanked on the left by the Old Castle (Starý zámok) and on the right by the New Castle (Nový zámok) with its characteristic onion-domed tower. The legend 'SVETOVÉ DEDIČSTVO UNESCO' is inscribed in three lines to the upper right of the field, and 'BANSKÁ ŠTIAVNICA' appears along the lower field, accompanied by the municipal coat of arms to its right. |

Banská Štiavnica was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1993, recognizing the town's extraordinary concentration of Baroque architecture and its medieval mining infrastructure — the latter including a sophisticated 18th-century water management system of artificial lakes, known as *tajchy*, engineered to drain the deep silver and gold mines that made the region one of the wealthiest in the Habsburg Empire.
The National Bank of Slovakia produced this coin four years after the inscription, part of a sustained commemorative program begun almost immediately after Slovak independence in January 1993.
