Prominent at centre is the tall Baroque plague column (Trinity Column) with its richly sculpted group of figures and sunburst finial, flanked on the left by the Old Castle (Starý zámok) and on the right by the New Castle (Nový zámok) with its characteristic onion-domed tower.
