Prominent at centre is the tall Baroque plague column (Trinity Column) with its richly sculpted group of figures and sunburst finial, flanked on the left by the Old Castle (Starý zámok) and on the right by the New Castle (Nový zámok) with its characteristic onion-domed tower. The legend 'SVETOVÉ DEDIČSTVO UNESCO' is inscribed in three lines to the upper right of the field, and 'BANSKÁ ŠTIAVNICA' appears along the lower field, accompanied by the municipal coat of arms to its right. |
