| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central design features the official commemorative logo of the Colombo Municipal Council 150th Anniversary, incorporating a view of Colombo Town Hall with the dates 1865 and 2015 flanking the upper portion of the logo. Below the central motif, three lines of trilingual text read සහජීවනියේ අසිරිය in Sinhala, சகவாழ்வின் ஆச்சர்யம் in Tamil, and MARVEL OF COHESION in Latin script. The large numeral 150 appears prominently at the bottom of the central design, accompanied by the word සංවත්සරය in Sinhala, ஆண்டுநிறைவு in Tamil, and ANNIVERSARY in Latin script. The outer legend reads කොළඹ මහා නගර සභාව in Sinhala along the top, கொழும்பு மாநகர சபை in Tamil on the right, and COLOMBO MUNICIPAL COUNCIL on the left, separated by two stylised lotus ornaments. | Beschrijving keerzijde | The large numeral 500 dominates the centre of the field, with the denomination expressed in three languages arranged peripherally: රුපියල් පන්සියයයි in Sinhala above, ஐந்நூறு ரூபாய் in Tamil on the right, and FIVE HUNDRED RUPEES in Latin script on the left. The year of issue, 2015, is inscribed at the bottom of the field. The country name appears in trilingual form along the upper periphery: ශ්රී ලංකා in Sinhala centred at top, இலங்கை in Tamil on the left, and SRI LANKA in Latin script on the right.
