| Obverse description | Printed in black intaglio on white paper with multicolour guilloche underprint in blue, red and orange, the central vignette presents an allegorical group of two seated female figures flanking a cherub; the left figure holds a fasces and tends a basket of fruit and produce, while the right figure holds a scroll and is accompanied by a globe and an open book, together symbolising Agriculture and Knowledge. A large ornate oval cartouche at centre bears the bank's monogram 'B / E de Ch' in bold letterpress. The denomination '500' appears in large white numerals within elaborate guilloche rosettes at left and right, with red serial numbers printed above; the issuer's title runs across the top border and 'QUINIENTOS PESOS / VALOR ORO NACIONAL' is set in a panel at the base, above the signature line. |
