The Bank of Central African States issues commemorative coinage on behalf of six member nations — Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon — under a monetary union whose franc was pegged to the French franc until 1999 and has since been pegged to the euro at a fixed rate of 655.957 CFA per euro.
