The central field carries the value in large Gothic script — 'Fünfhunderttausend Mark' — above a block of German body text specifying the issuing company, redemption conditions, and validity date of 30 September 1923. The place and date of issue 'Stolberg, Rhld., den 15. August 1923' appear in the lower body, accompanied by a handwritten serial number prefixed 'Litt. A', a violet facsimile stamp-signature of the Stolberg branch, and the legend 'ST. GOBAIN' in the bottom panel. |
