| Obverse description | Central field features an elaborate interlaced floral arabesque motif composed of overlapping lobed cartouches with quatrefoil ornaments and dot accents, rendered in low relief in the Islamic decorative tradition. The design is enclosed within a plain inner circle, itself surrounded by a rope-twist or chain border. The Arabic legend reading 'دولة سورية' (State of Syria) is inscribed along the upper arc between the inner and outer borders, accompanied by a six-pointed star at the apex. The date appears in both Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals (١٩٣٣) and Western Arabic numerals (1933) at the lower arc of the border. The coin's outer rim is decorated with a continuous alternating chevron or sawtooth pattern. |
