| Opis awersu | Central vignette shows a war memorial monument with a sculptural group of two male figures — one kneeling over a fallen comrade — set on a rectangular stone plinth inscribed with dates 1914–1918. A radiating sunburst forms the background behind the monument. To the left, a circular underprint cartouche carries the denomination '50 Pfg' in Gothic letterforms with ornamental framing; to the right, the circular municipal seal of Schmiedeberg bears a crowned heraldic eagle with the Latin legend 'SIGIL. Flanking the central scene are two side panels in dark ink: at left, a hiker in traditional mountain attire reading a map; at right, a figure in regional folk dress carrying a pole with a lantern.
