A radiating sunburst forms the background behind the monument. To the left, a circular underprint cartouche carries the denomination '50 Pfg' in Gothic letterforms with ornamental framing; to the right, the circular municipal seal of Schmiedeberg bears a crowned heraldic eagle with the Latin legend 'SIGIL.
