| 裏面の説明 | Bicolour reverse in dark navy blue and ochre, centred on an oval portrait vignette of the lyric poet August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben, born near Höxter, with his name inscribed around the oval border. Two classically rendered allegorical male figures flank the portrait, each holding a blank pennant. A bold arched banner at the top carries the legend 'DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND ÜBER ALLES', referencing the national anthem whose text Hoffmann authored, while the denomination '50 Pf.' in large ornamental type and the legend 'NOTGELD DER STADT HÖXTER' in block capitals occupy the lower panel, with the printer's imprint in small ochre type at the foot. |
