| 背面描述 | The reverse, designed by artist Tom Phillips, features a bold typographic composition inspired by musical manuscript notation. The name BENJAMIN appears across the upper field and BRITTEN across the lower field, both rendered in large block lettering overlaid on horizontal stave lines evoking musical notation. Between the two name bands, the inscription COMPOSER·BORN 1913 is set in a smaller font. Above, the legend ·BLOW BUGLE·BLOW· arcs across the top, while SET THE WILD ECHOES FLYING is inscribed at the base, both phrases drawn from Tennyson's poem set to music by Britten. The designer's initials TP appear as a small mark at the lower centre. |
