| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Charles III occupies the central field, modelled by Martin Jennings in a naturalistic portrait style with finely rendered facial features and cropped hair. The legend CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 50 PENCE · 2024 runs continuously around the periphery, interrupted by raised circular stops, conforming to the heptagonal coin shape. The engraver's initials MJ appear discreetly below the portrait truncation at lower right. The mirror-polished proof fields contrast sharply with the frosted relief of the effigy, accentuating the three-dimensional modelling. No crown or other regalia is depicted, consistent with the standard definitive portrait introduced for Charles III coinage. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A full-colour rendering of a Tyrannosaurus rex dominates the field, depicted in dynamic lateral stride facing right with jaws agape, revealing prominent serrated teeth; the musculature and scaled skin texture are rendered in earth tones of ochre, brown, and olive. Beneath the living animal, a detailed skeletal reconstruction of the same theropod is shown in engraved relief against the polished field, juxtaposing life restoration with fossil anatomy and flanked by stylised Cretaceous foliage at lower left and right. The species name TYRANNOSAURUS arcs along the upper legend in raised lettering, while CRETACEOUS appears in bold relief within a dark band at the base. Part of the Royal Mint's ongoing Natural History Museum collaboration, this issue draws on the Museum's holdings of one of the most complete T. rex specimens in Europe — "Scotty," or more precisely the cast displayed in the Hintze Hall, whose original bones remain in Saskatchewan. The series has leaned heavily on paleontological credibility rather than novelty licensing, with the Museum's scientific staff involved in approving anatomical detail.
