| Description du revers | The reverse features a dramatic commemorative composition celebrating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Normandy Landings of 6 June 1944, with selective 24-carat gold plating applied to the central scene. In the foreground, a helmeted Allied soldier advances in combat posture, armed with a rifle, rendered in bold high relief against a gold-plated field. Behind him, a second soldier takes aim, while the background depicts landing craft, a warship, airborne paratroopers descending by parachute, transport aircraft, and a tank, evoking the full scale of the amphibious assault. The legend D-DAY 80 with a central star appears prominently across the upper field in large relief lettering, with barbed wire motifs above. The denomination 50p is inscribed to the right of centre, and the inscription NORMANDY LANDINGS is displayed in bold relief across the lower panel in silver against a darkened background.
