正面铭文 50
50
Heller. 2. Gemeinde Gaspoltshofen L. Heller.
背面描述 The reverse is printed in violet and enclosed within a simple ruled border, with the denomination numeral '50' in each upper corner. A multi-line text block in blackletter script sets out the legal basis for issue, stating that the Gemeinde Gaspoltshofen in Oberösterreich resolved at its committee session of 24 April 1920 to issue emergency scrip to a total value of 50,000 Kronen, redeemable at the municipal treasury (Gemeindekasse Gaspoltshofen) until 31 December 1920. The date 'Gaspoltshofen, am 24. April 1920' is followed by the printed signature of the Bürgermeister, Hans Bachinger, and a counterfeiting warning at the foot.

备注

Gaspoltshofen is a small market town in Upper Austria, and this 50 Heller note is one of thousands of Austrian Notgeld issues produced in the immediate postwar years when small coin disappeared from circulation entirely — hoarded, melted, or simply not minted in sufficient quantity during the economic collapse following 1918. Municipalities, businesses, and even individual estates printed their own fractional paper to keep local commerce moving.

The Jaksch/Pick reference suffix "b" indicates a variant within the Gaspoltshofen 50 Heller type — likely a signature, paper, or overprint difference from the "a" issue. Hans Bachinger's signature as issuing authority points to a local municipal official rather than any banking institution.
