| 表面の説明 | The brass centre features the national coat of arms of Burkina Faso, depicting two rampant white stallions flanking a central shield charged with a five-pointed star, supported by an open book below and surmounted by a scroll inscribed BURKINA FASO. Below the shield, a ribbon bears the national motto in three segments: Unité, Progrès, Justice. The copper-nickel outer ring carries the legend REPUBLIQUE DU BURKINA FASO arcing across the upper field, with the denomination 50 FRANCS CFA inscribed along the lower arc. |

| 裏面の説明 | The brass centre depicts a detailed broadside view of the Italian ocean liner SS Andrea Doria under way, rendered in fine relief against billowing clouds of smoke rising from the ship's funnel. The copper-nickel outer ring continues the maritime scene, showing the liner's full hull profile extending into the ring, with stylized waves and rocky coastal elements in the lower field. The legend ANDREA DORIA arcs along the upper portion of the outer ring in incuse lettering, and the date 2017 appears in the lower field of the ring below the central design. |

The Andrea Doria was an Italian ocean liner that sank in July 1956 after colliding with the MS Stockholm off Nantucket — one of the most documented maritime disasters of the postwar period, partly because enough passengers survived to tell it and because the wreck remains diveable today. Burkina Faso, a landlocked country with no coastline and no historical connection to Italian maritime history, issues these CFA-denomination pieces almost exclusively for the collector export market through licensed distributors.
