The face carries the issuing bank's title and denomination in both numerals and words, the date of issue, and two manuscript signatures of the Governor and Director beneath their respective titles. |

The central vignette reproduces a marble bas-relief from the east frieze of the Parthenon, with the figures of Poseidon, Apollo, and Artemis seated in the assembly of the gods rendered in precise engraved detail. Denomination numerals are placed at both lateral margins, and the bank title together with the issue designation appear in Greek script across the face of the reverse. |
