| Obverse description | At left, a portrait vignette of the ancient Greek poet Hesiod is rendered in fine intaglio engraving, while the lower centre presents a view of the White Tower of Thessaloniki accompanied by a sailing vessel at lower right. The face carries the issuing bank's title and denomination in both numerals and words, the date of issue, and two manuscript signatures of the Governor and Director beneath their respective titles. |
