正面铭文 CHARLES III · 2025 · SOLOMON ISLANDS DT · 50 CENTS ·
背面描述 The reverse features a vivid full-colour depiction of a Supermarine Spitfire aircraft in dynamic flight, bearing the squadron codes 'G · SW' on its fuselage, set against a stylised Union Jack flag rendered in shades of blue and gold. Speed lines in the background convey a sense of motion and aerial combat. The legend 'SO MUCH OWED BY SO MANY TO SO FEW' — the famous words of Winston Churchill — arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin capitals. In the lower right field, the inscription 'BATTLE of BRITAIN' appears in bold lettering alongside the numeral '85', commemorating the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

附加信息

The Supermarine Spitfire entered service with the RAF in 1938, but its defining moment came during the Battle of Britain in the summer of 1940, when production bottlenecks — partly caused by Luftwaffe bombing of the Castle Bromwich factory — threatened to ground the type entirely. Lord Beaverbrook's Ministry of Aircraft Production ran public "Spitfire Funds," allowing towns and institutions to donate toward named aircraft, making it one of the few warplanes with a genuine civilian fundraising mythology attached to it.
