| Obverse description | Printed in carmine-red on white paper, the obverse is framed by an elaborate guilloche border with corner cartouches bearing the denomination '0.50'. At the top centre, the municipal coat of arms of Le Havre — flanked by lion supporters and an anchor — is set within a decorative vignette surmounted by the motto scrolls 'NUTRISCO ET' and 'EXTINGUO'. The left margin carries a caduceus vignette inscribed 'COMMERCE' and the right a nautical emblem inscribed 'NAVIGATION', with the denomination panel '50 CENTIMES' printed in bold letterpress across the centre, overlaid by a red guilloche underprint watermark numeral, two facsimile signatures below, and the year '1920' in a box at the foot. |
