| Obverse description | Art Nouveau letterpress design in dark blue and red on a cream ground, the border densely filled with foliate and floral scrollwork. A central oval cartouche carries the large denomination numeral '50' above 'CENTIMES', flanked by two red heraldic shield vignettes — an anchor motif at upper right and a caduceus at lower left — with the authorizing deliberation dates inscribed to either side. Printed signature lines for the Président and Trésorier appear below the cartouche, the series number in red at lower right, and the designer's credit 'MARIUS SIMON' at the lower left margin. |
