| Obverse description | The obverse displays the Venezuelan national coat of arms at center, comprising a quartered shield with a sheaf of wheat, crossed flags and weapons, a running horse, and a river landscape, surmounted by a crest of tropical foliage and cornucopia. The shield is flanked by an olive branch to the left and a palm branch to the right, tied at the base with a ribbon inscribed LIBERTAD, and two scrolls bearing the dates 19 DE ABRIL 1810 and 5 DE JULIO 1811. The circular legend ESTADOS UNIDOS DE VENEZUELA runs along the upper periphery, while the lower field carries the weight specification Gs. 12,500, the mint year, and the fineness LEI 835, separated by raised dots. The design is executed in a fine neoclassical engraving style, enclosed within a beaded border. |
