| Obverse description | Cast bronze cash coin of the Eastern Han Wu Zhu type, featuring a central square perforation surrounded by a raised square rim. The two-character inscription 五銖 (Wu Zhu, meaning '5 Zhu') is cast in regular seal script (lishu), read from right to left in the fields flanking the central hole. At least one crescent or half-moon mark appears below the square perforation in the lower field, serving as a mint or workshop identifier. The outer rim is plain and slightly raised, enclosing the design field, which displays the characteristic green patination typical of Eastern Han bronze coinage. |
