To the left of centre, a vignette of the turmeric flower (Curcuma longa) is printed in multicolour over a transparent polymer window, with the numeral '5' visible through the window element. The denomination 'LIMA RINGGIT' appears in bold letterpress across the upper centre, with the country title 'NEGARA BRUNEI DARUSSALAM' along the top margin.

The polymer window element appears on the right side, mirroring the obverse transparent feature. The country title in Jawi script runs along the upper margin, with the English denomination 'FIVE DOLLARS' and Jawi 'ليما ريڠڬيت' inscribed along the lower portion of the note.
