Obverse description Central shield bearing the quartered arms of the Duchy of Lucca, surmounted by a ducal crown with prominent fleurons and arches. The escutcheon displays multiple heraldic charges across its quarters, including towers and lions, with an inescutcheon at the center. The circumferential legend in Latin reads CARLO LOD·I·D·S DUCA DI LUCCA, separated by a six-pointed star, running around the full periphery of the field.
