| 备注 |
The Commonwealth Bank's Note Printing Branch began producing Australian currency domestically in 1920, ending a dependence on London printers that had persisted since Federation. This £5 note was among the earlier products of that still-maturing operation, and the branch's technical limitations in the 1920s are occasionally visible in surviving examples — ink consistency and impression depth vary more across the series than in later issues.
The dual Collins signatures on the 1926 date — James Collins as Governor and James R. Collins as Secretary — caused immediate public confusion, and the pairing is frequently misidentified as an error even today.
