Description de l’avers	Portrait of King George V in right-facing profile occupies the right portion of the note, set against a fine guilloche underprint in blue. The Royal Arms of Australia appears as a vignette within an oval frame to the left, surrounded by intricate lathe-work border ornamentation. The denomination "FIVE POUNDS" is printed in bold letterpress at centre, below the promise-to-pay legend in cursive script, with serial numbers appearing twice in the upper central field.

The inscriptions "FIVE POUNDS" appear twice at the lower portion of the note, separated by a cross-hatched ornamental device.
