| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central vignette at lower left shows a harbour scene with sailing vessels and steamships; floral sprays occupy the lower centre. The denomination CINQ PIASTRES is set in large bold letterpress across the upper half, flanked by elaborate dragon-head ornamental borders at left and right, with a guilloche rosette medallion to the far right. Chinese characters are distributed across the central and right-hand fields, accompanied by a secondary dragon vignette at the right margin. A repeating microtext guilloche band reading BANQUE DE L'INDO-CHINE borders the upper portion, and a cautionary anti-counterfeiting legend in French occupies a panel at the lower centre, with the designer credit Geo.
