Obverse description The obverse features a plain field enclosed by an inner beaded circle, at the center of which the large numeral '5' is prominently struck as the denomination. Surrounding the inner beaded circle, a circular legend in raised Latin capital letters reads 'D.T.S. WERKE KRAUSCHWITZ', punctuated by two five-pointed stars at either side. The design is framed by an outer beaded rim running along the full circumference of the coin, lending the piece its utilitarian notgeld character.

Additional information

D.T.S. Werke Krauschwitz was a German industrial firm that issued notgeld tokens during the economic disruptions of the early Weimar period, when small-denomination coinage disappeared from circulation almost entirely. Factory-issued pfennig tokens of this type were redeemable only at company-affiliated stores or canteens, effectively tying workers' purchasing power to their employer.
