The face carries a full block of text in Catalan declaring the note's legal-tender status and its authority under the Decree of 21 September 1936, with the denomination CINC PESSETES (Five Pesetas) stated in words. The layout is typical of wartime emergency issue letterpress printing, spare in ornament and utilitarian in design. |
