| Obverse description | The Coat of Arms of Catalonia occupies the central field, flanked by allegorical vignettes representing agriculture and industry — an ear of wheat to one side and a hammer to the other. The face carries a full block of text in Catalan declaring the note's legal-tender status and its authority under the Decree of 21 September 1936, with the denomination CINC PESSETES (Five Pesetas) stated in words. The layout is typical of wartime emergency issue letterpress printing, spare in ornament and utilitarian in design. |
