Obverse description Typeset letterpress emergency issue printed in black ink on plain paper, enclosed within a simple geometric rectangular border. The central text block presents the issuing authority and payment obligation in a formal, structured typographic layout characteristic of Civil War-era emergency notes, entirely without guilloche ornament. Denomination, issuing branch, and obligation text are arranged in horizontal registers across the face.
