| Reverse description | The reverse presents a bold allegorical composition dominated by a vertical lance or pike rising through the center of the field, with a crescent-shaped cross-guard, evoking the traditional Artigas battle standard. Two dramatically billowing flag panels flank the lance on either side, rendered with a textured stippled surface to convey fabric in motion, their outer edges sweeping toward the rim. Across the lower central field, a raised horizontal band bears the patriotic motto LIBERTAD O MUERTE in bold incuse Latin lettering.
