正面描述 The obverse features a large central circular hole, around which radiates a stylized olive wreath rendered in low relief. Encircling the wreath, the name of the territory appears in three scripts: PALESTINE in Latin characters at the top, flanked by the Hebrew פלשתינה (א״י) to the left and the Arabic فلسطين to the right. The date of issue appears below the central hole, expressed in both Western Arabic numerals and Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals, separated by the olive wreath motif. A beaded inner border frames the central hole, while a fine milled rim encloses the entire design.

附加信息

The Palestine Currency Board operated as a currency authority rather than a central bank — it issued no credit, held pound sterling reserves at a strict 1:1 ratio, and had no monetary policy function whatsoever. Bronze replaced the earlier cupro-nickel composition for this denomination specifically because wartime demand stripped British and Commonwealth mints of strategic metals, pushing the Royal Mint to reformulate lower-denomination coinage across multiple territories simultaneously. The 1942–1944 dating covers a period when Palestine was functioning as a major Allied logistics hub, meaning these coins circulated hard through military canteens and civilian markets alike.
